Passing the time...

We were without daddy for 5 days this week.  The first two were spent up in Appleton visiting my parents while Braden and Olivia were on spring break.  The second three were back here but Steve was gone on a work trip.  Since becoming a stay at home mom, his travels have been easier on us but this stretch was particularly taxing on me.

Norah has been sick all week and has been VERY into mommy.  I love it and constantly remind myself it won't last forever but there are moments I want to tear my hair out and would just love for Daddy to be here for some of the snuggles.  Because of this and the dreary weather we weren't able to go anywhere the last couple of days which added to the restlessness.  Lastly I have been training for a half marathon and due to all of the above I missed many of my workouts this weekend - in the grand scheme of life it's no biggie but I felt frustrated.

So... trying to drink in the moments, keep my cool, and help move us through the day I pulled out our learning bin. I haven't had it out in a while and it was welcomed with smiles and excitement.  Braden and Olivia are at their best when they are truly engaged. :)

 Olivia started with number matching.

Braden chose to start with his number book.

"Learning is FUN!"

Norah woke from her nap halfway through and wanted to do something as well so she colored. :)

I obviously have a love of learning and I am so happy that my children seem to be developing this as well.  Some of them more than others but hopefully if we continue to make it fun and an important focus at our house they will end up appreciating it if nothing else. :)
