Painting...

BEFORE

So I was all set to touch up the paint in Olivia's room today. It's needed to be done since I took off the wall-paper border a few months ago. Last week I looked in the basement for the paint and unfortunately it's the only room in the whole house without some left-over. I took the amazingly organized list of colors (the woman who lived here before was my organization idol) to Menards (she even wrote down where they paint was from) and tried to get the color. Well... to make a long story short they don't make that same color anymore... or at least it's not under the same numbers. They gave me a swatch with the same name and it looked similar so I got it.

WELL let me tell you - I taped this morning which is NOT my favorite thing to do and then touched up the needed areas. The color seemed off but I thought it just needed to dry. We went about our day and when we returned I realized that it is not the same color. :(

So, I guess we are painting Olivia's room tonight. I had wanted to wait since I don't know if this baby will be a boy or girl and there may end up being some room switching but if I have to tape the whole room I am not going to do it neutral. I'm going to go for the color. :)

I taped as much as I could and will finish tonight when I purchase more along with the paint. The chair rail is white and I think I've decided to paint the top a pale pink called, "Pink Cadillac," and the bottom a sage green called, "Kittery Point Green." They are from the Pottery Barn Kids pallet and I like the look together. It's soft and feminine without being young and "cute."

I'll post after pictures when it's done. Wish me luck.
