The Chickadees

Last night, Steve, the kids and I drove down to Lake Park to see a children's concert put on by The Chickadees. They're a local group we enjoy listening to and singing along with. Braden's friend Daniel, his mommy, and a bunch of her friends went as well so we had a good size group to enjoy the show with.

Braden had the most fun running around the park with Daniel - but second on the list was getting to sit on stage! There was a great song where they had all the kids come up and sing along with some actions. Surprisingly, Braden took a pause from running to go and participate.

Olivia wasn't as sure. She started about halfway between us and the stage but by the time the song ended she had inched her way up to stand by her big brother as you can see in the picture (she has the red fleece on). She surprises me at what she is timid about.

We had a really good time and I feel lucky that my kiddos enjoy music and singing as much as I do. We have it playing in the background of our lives almost constantly helping to cheer us up, calm us down or whatever we might need at the time. I saw that they play again later this summer so I think we'll try for a second concert in August!!
