Safety Town

Braden started Safety Town today. It's a summer school class that is from 9:30-11:30am each morning for 9 days. I was super excited for him to take this as I remember taking "Tykes on Trikes" as a youngster. I can recall riding around on my trike through the streets, stopping at stop signs, yielding at yields and learning about the stoplights. He is taking a pumped up version of what I did when I was little.

He was exhausted and hungry when he finished today so we came home and have been relaxing. I think he had a good time although Braden isn't one to elaborate on details. I have to do some guess work and ask very pointed questions. Anything open ended and sometimes even the pointed questions are answered with, "I don't know," or "I don't want to talk right now." Oh well - Olivia will be my tell all. :)

His schedule for this week is...

Day 1: Learn about Safety Town Lot and have the opportunity to be both a driver and a pedestrian. Learn about crossing the street and, "Stop, Look, and Listen."

Day 2: Learn about traffic lights and traffic signs. Practice crossing the street safely.

Day 3: Learn about fire safety with Amy from the Wauwatosa Fire Department.

Day 4: Field trip to the Fire Station! Practice a fire drill and learn about fire safety.

Sounds like fun to me!!
